I was asked to assist with figures for a forthcoming article on West Nile Virus transmission with stable flies. The figures had to be simple, straightforward, and clear.


Storehouse Illustration

World Vision Storehouses are a complex community network of support and distribution. They needed a visual that would quickly illustrate both how donors could help and how the Storehouse benefited communities.


Annual Report Illustrations and Financials

For this Annual Report we wanted to give the numbers and statistics behind World Vision’s work more impact and understandability. To achieve that, a combination of illustrative styles were used throughout the Report.


Classroom Schedules

These posters were designed to orient new students to the University of Alberta’s Design Department and show classroom schedules. A simple diagonal cut created a unique profile that stood out from other postings on the walls.


MED Informational Illustration

World Vision’s Micro-loan programs needed a simple and compelling way to communicate the diverse nature of its work. It made sense to work within the map metaphor that had been established for communicating World Vision’s work online and in print. .


Echo Chainsaw Instructions

This grad school project was to redesign a set of instructions for a product. I chose to amplify the full manual with a quick start guide that still fulfilled legal requirements for warnings, but also could be a hands-free guide to starting the chainsaw (which requires both hands and a foot).


Casey Industrial Illustration

Casey Industrial asked HuebnerPetersen to help reposition their brand for growth in two new industries. We wanted to build an illustrative piece that visually showed how Casey’s strengths were a perfect fit for these industries.


Metro City Map

The complexity of community development was a challenge for World Vision to communicate. My job was to help make this simpler, after several concepts I settled on a progressive map, that, when viewed from left-to-right showed the growth of a community and illustrated key aspects of World Visions work-.


Warning Label

This graduate school project was a great introduction into the legal and optical requirements for signage and warning labels. The project included researching these requirement and then designing labels for two applications—workplace signage and product labeling.


First Americans Graphic

First Americans is one of the only insurance providers that focuses only on Native American’s and their tribes. Their understanding and integration within the unique native cultures needed to be told in a simple but compelling manner that could differentiate them from competition. .


Settle Inn Illustration

Settle Inn has a uniquely “franchise-friendly” franchise agreement—for which it’s won awards. They wanted a visual that would quickly illustrate just how different their relationship with franchises is.
